Under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004, local and district councils are required by law to have a disaster recovery plan in the case of flood, earthquake, widespread fire or other civil emergencies.
As a group, we have been selected to partner with North West Leicestershire Council to form part of the medical, rescue, hospitality and relief effort for such emergencies.
While we hope that this is a partnership that will never need to be put to the test, our responders are always ready to get stuck in and help our local communities should the need ever arise.
