Welcome to the website of the National Forest Responders – Voluntary Community Response Medics.
We are a group of friends and volunteers, trained ambulance medics who give our time freely to the East Midlands Ambulance Service and provide critical response to patients with life threatening conditions.
Since our initial inception in 2012, we have volunteered over 49,000 hours to the ambulance service, attending over 7,750 patients in need of our help.
As a scheme, we exist to respond to 999 and 111 emergencies as directed by the ambulance service, completely free of charge, providing a mix of patient care and life saving intervention to our local community in their times of need.
As a group, we also provide a number of other services such as community training in CPR, the safe use of defibrillators, and community first aid to local schools, businesses and groups, medical cover for local events, we form part of the local disaster recovery provision and provide a wide range of other services to help our local community however we can. We also provide a voluntary operational support service to the 999 ambulance service, giving logistical support with equipment and vehicle movements as well as social and welfare services to crews.
We are completely self-funded organisation with a genuine desire and single immutable goal to make a difference to those around us in our local communities.
We are always growing and are always recruiting volunteers to join us, and you’re very welcome to get in touch and find out more about us and what we do.
